Maile is a lei used for many ceremonial uses, it is used to bless a new place, it is used in weddings and is given at graduations. The symbolism for this wonderful woman is that it is a new beginning to connect her to the islands with the history of her mother surrounding her.I hope it brings her great joy, it was a joy to make it!

A Fathers Protection
silver feather ring
This ring was inspired by the protection of a father. A friend of mine lost her dad to cancer and missed him dearly, one day she said, "hey dad can you leave me little messages so I know you are out there."
After that day, Feathers started appearing, One, even on her steering wheel. So I decided to give her a permanent reminder for her birthday, the result is a reminder that we are protected, He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge.

Wedding set
The Rest of the Story.......I took the diamond out of " The heirloom ring " and created an engagement ring to the bride and grooms specifications. First I carved the wax.
I received their approval and then cast the ring in Platinum. Set the stones polished it up and pray they love it.
They also want a matching wedding band.
Start with an Idea.....
then carve the wax to match the engagement ring, cast it and set the diamonds.
Polish the ring and they match up very nice.
So, the diamond holder for the proposal,
turns into a lovely heirloom ring to pass down
to the next generation.
Then the bride and the groom get the adventure of designing their own wedding set together, without
spoiling any surprises!
That's the story , and the rest is history!

Fern Inspiration

Happy Birthday.
This new ring is inspired by the beautiful quiet ferns of Hawaii. Ferns usually symbolize fresh new beginning's. This ring said just that for the birthday girl who recieved it from her sister . just after they rekindled a freshness in their relationship after a visit to the Island when birthday girl returned home she recieved this ring as a reminder of her visit and the love shared between sisters.Saturday, May 15, 2010
working in the Shop
This week I am working on wedding Jewelry. First is the engagement and we used a generic setting as a diamond holder, then the beauty of being able to design your own ring is available and most fun. The bottom of the diamond holder was then used to create a keepsake ring. in this case we used 3 aquamarines and set them into 18k yellow gold, a favorite stone and the birthstone.
Right now I am carving the wax for her wedding band and the custom designed platinum engagement ring and his wedding band is in the works being cast. aloha all Sarah
